Shasta Lake is a large man-made lake in the Shasta county, California. At first I didn't believe that it was man-made lake when one of my friends told me! It is blue and it is large. It makes sense, it was created by building a dam across Sacramento River. It is a nice place for house boats, as in the picture. It is very good for water-sports. Speed boating, water skiing, kayaking and so on ... In my first visit I did all of it ... I never went there again ... after one of my colleagues lost his life when he went swimming in the icy-cold waters after 4-5 cans of beer. I just remember his wife and 2yr old son watching him drown. They were sitting in the boat. You know? We are responsible for our own safety!! Nature is beautiful but ruthless if we are not careful! Beer gets us high, but we can feel it only when we are alive!
I definitely stopped to enjoy its vast beauty when driving past the lake. Beautiful place indeed!
