223. Sai Mandir in Sikkim

Happy New Year to all the readers of my blog!

What an eventful year 2011 was?! Ah! The year I never had any problems, and enjoyed travel and adventure! :) Starting the new year with a post of a place which left me stunned! Sai Baba Mandir in Sikkim.

Somehow, I had a feeling that Sai Baba mandirs are only in Maharashtra and north-west Karnataka. When I was in Namchi, the Char Dham temple was closed and the taxi driver offered to take me to a Sai Mandir. I was thinking he is cheating me ... And thought I would pay him less if anything in the trip was lousy. But, I was wrong!

I saw the temple, my eyes and mouth opened  wide, and I stared! Is it a temple or a palace? Sai Baba was a saint ... people built him a palace!! :) I entered the palace wondering how is it inside?! I wasn't disappointed. The prayer hall was spotless clean, cool and huuuuuuge. I was the only one there in that huge prayer hall. I think even if there were people still it would be peaceful.

Wow! Just wow! I was such an happy soul when I came out. I will visit this place again whenever I get a chance.

  4. @Benoy, Yes! I had to miss N Sikkim, visitors were not allowed there in early Nov. I deeply feel for the earthquake victims. Nathu La was open only for a weekend which I visited and is beautiful!
